“Congress shall have the Power To… provide for the common Defence (sic) and general Welfare of the United States… to establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization... throughout the United States.” US Constitution, Article 1, Section 8.
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.” US Constitution, Article IV, Section 4.
I will vote to fund the completion of the border wall which President Trump began. I will vote to fund the agencies which are to manage our border (Customs and Border Patrol), handle illegal aliens (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and call out the hypocrisy of those who do not want secure borders but have private security, gated and alarmed homes. I will vote against federal funding to any city or state which claims “sanctuary” status for illegals, which do not cooperate with federal agencies and ignore their culpability in the horrific violence wrought on their citizens.
Talk is cheap. The elected officials who are allowing our borders to be invaded have spent their careers voting for stronger borders and wall to be built- until now. But now the time for action has come, and after sabotaging every move made to secure our southern border, and now flouting their disregard for laws which THEY put in place and were part of their election platforms, they clearly regard NON-citizens more highly than you, their constituents. Is there some reason at every illegal is not vaccinated given 20% or more present with COVID while the government mandates and winks at companies who mandate the “jab?” Is there a reason they are not being vetted while you need a “vaccine passport?” Is there a reason they are being given transportation while you are paying exorbitant and rising gas prices? Money and services while you have hard financial decisions to make with this inflation?
There is neither logical nor Constitutional defense of the illegal border surge between the United States and Mexico. Saying “Don’t come,” no doubt said with crossed fingers, is as effective as an ineffective parent imploring “Now, Suzy, stop that right now.” Swift and sure action must be taken to stop the flow of illegal aliens into our country!
Why must immigration be reformed? First let us enforce the laws that are on the books. Then, if additional work is needed, then reform can take place. Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement MUST be funded. The wall must be built. Violent criminal illegal aliens must be deported. No social protections for illegal aliens. Social protections are for OUR citizens.
In Tennessee, among other states, two planes with unaccompanied children have landed in Chattanooga and Knoxville. Where are they? Where did they go? How did they get to the US in the first place? How is it that US citizens are arrested for neglect or child endangerment when letting their children play at a nearby playground, and yet, where are these parents? Where did they get the money to pay the coyotes if they are so impoverished? What sort of deal was struck with Mexico and other countries who have such strict borders US citizens are detained and yet, thousands in a migrant army march through without question? What about the countries farther south? Who is bringing migrants from across the ocean? And yet we turn back those fleeing Communist Cuba? Our priorities are mixed up.
If you lock your doors, have a fenced yard, you understand appreciate your safe domain. Your boundaries. Your territory. Without a border, there is no country.
Challenge your sitting lawmakers to repeal border laws which they are not allowing to be enforced. If they are not supporting and defending the Constitution, then what ARE they doing?
Challenge them to withhold federal funding to Sanctuary Cities and States; those places are aiding and abetting criminals. I suspect they would be afraid of the outcry and uprising, not to mention their next election result.
